Mobile App Development · Tanzania

Apps Tanzanians actually keep installed.

Product strategy, UX, design, development, payment and system integration, store release and iteration — iOS and Android apps built for real Tanzanian devices and networks.

The Kiwi approach

Built for Tanzanian brands. Measured against global standards.

An app is a commitment, not a campaign. It has to earn a slot on a phone with limited storage, patchy data and a hundred competing icons. We scope ruthlessly: one job the app does better than your website, shipped fast, then improved on evidence. Everything else — payments, integrations, notifications, analytics — is built around that job.

  • Cross-platform (React Native, Flutter) or fully native (Swift, Kotlin)
  • Mobile money and card payments: M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money, Selcom, DPO, Flutterwave, Pesapal, Stripe
  • API integration with your website, CRM, ERP, inventory, delivery and accounting systems
  • Offline-tolerant flows, small install size, tested on mid-range Android over 3G
  • App Store and Play Store setup, listing, submission and phased rollout
  • Push notifications, in-app messaging and product analytics wired from launch
01

Product strategy & scoping

Defining the one job the app must do, the release scope, the success metric and the roadmap after launch — before a single screen is designed.
02

UX & interface design

Flows, wireframes, prototypes and a full design system in your brand — designed thumb-first for the phones your customers actually own.
03

iOS & Android development

React Native, Flutter or native Swift / Kotlin builds with a secure backend, authentication and admin tooling.
04

Payment gateway integration

Mobile money, card acquiring, subscriptions and in-app purchases — with reconciliation, receipting and failure handling built in.
05

Website & systems integration

One data layer across app, website and back office: CRM, ERP, inventory, booking, courier, WhatsApp Business and analytics.
06

Store release & ongoing support

Developer accounts, listings, screenshots, review submission, phased rollouts, crash monitoring, OS updates and feature iteration.
Frequently asked

How much does a mobile app cost in Tanzania?

A production-grade iOS + Android app typically starts around TSh 18M and scales with features, backend complexity and integrations. We usually recommend starting with a tightly scoped first release, then iterating on real usage rather than paying for features nobody opens.

Do you build native or cross-platform apps?

Both. We default to React Native or Flutter for most clients — one codebase, iOS and Android, faster time to market. We go fully native (Swift / Kotlin) when the product needs deep hardware integration or platform-specific performance.

Can the app take payments?

Yes. We integrate mobile money (M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money, Halopesa), card payments via Selcom, DPO, Flutterwave, Pesapal or Stripe, plus in-app purchases and subscriptions where the store rules require them.

Can the app connect to our existing website or systems?

That's usually the point. We connect apps to your website, CRM, ERP, inventory, delivery and accounting systems through APIs, so one source of truth serves web, app and back office.

Do you handle App Store and Play Store publishing?

Yes — developer account setup, store listings, screenshots, review submissions, phased rollouts and release management. We also handle the update cycle after launch.

What about low-end devices and poor connectivity?

We build offline-tolerant flows, cache aggressively, keep install size small and test on mid-range Android over 3G. Tanzanian users don't all carry flagship phones — the app has to work anyway.
